The annual Shalom Cycle event – the Northwest Cycle Challenge – is taking shape in Ireland, and planning is well underway among the committee based in Derry. This year’s rally will be held April 25-26th, with cyclists enjoying a full breakfast before departing Faughanvale Saturday morning. The route takes riders via Derry, Strabane, Castlederg, Beleek and Ballyshannon with an overnight and dinner at the Great Northern Hotel Bundoran – with inspirational remarks from Shalom founder Fr. Patrick Devine. After Mass and breakfast on Sunday, the riders complete their cycle through Ballyshannon, Donegal Town, Barnesmoregap, Ballybofey, Stranorlar, Convoy, Raphoe, St. Johnston, Derry, Foylebridge and Eglington.
