Fr. Devine Greets Shalom Supporters in New York

By April 25, 2016 No Comments

Last month, Shalom’s U.S. nonprofit affiliate hosted a reception in midtown Manhattan for more than 40 supporters and nonprofit and international leaders. During the reception, Fr. Devine gave a short talk about Shalom’s work in the last year and its success helping to bring peace to tribal lands in northern Kenya. He spoke movingly of how important American support – financial and otherwise – remains for Shalom’s sustainability.

“We say always that peace is not the mere absence of war, but that it involves human development, education and commitment,” said Fr. Devine at the reception. “Please know that support from the U.S. means so much to the entire Shalom team.” Here are some photos from the reception.
