Shalom – SCCRR N.Ireland; supporting the valuable work of Shalom in East Africa. APPRECIATION.

By July 26, 2019 No Comments

Congratulations to the Shalom Center for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation in N. Ireland who had a fundraiser on June 29/30.  A large number of people participated in cycling 50 kilometres from Faughanvale, County Derry to Ballyliffin in County Donegal on Saturday and returning on the Sunday morning. Numerous other supporters attended the evening fundraising promotion. Appreciation to all those who organised the event and for all those who sponsored the cyclists and donated in other ways towards the work of Shalom in East Africa.  The event highlighted the genuine interest that people have in the work of Shalom – being on the ground with people and transforming people’s lives from one of violence to peace while supporting local schools with the necessary means to provide quality education to a new generation.  A great day was had by everyone as all riders completed the challenge – up and down mountains as if in the Tour of France!  On Saturday evening, everyone gathered to appreciate the work of Shalom and to pledge continued support for the event.

SCCRR extends its appreciation to the Board of SCCRR N. Ireland for their sterling work in raising awareness of Shalom and encouraging people to be involved with the project.  Not only is Shalom transforming the conflict and poverty environments to situations of peace with supporting inter-ethnic and inter-religious schools – but people are been giving authentic hope for a better and brighter future.
